It is surrounded by sea on 3 sides. The population increases approximately 3 times in summer. The most important source of income is fishing and tourism. Half of the local population is engaged in fishing. Women working in the fields in village areas generally earn their living by selling the products they produce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Bart\u0131n is located in the western part of the Black Sea Region, between 410 -53&#039; north latitude and 320 -33&#039; east longitude. While the Black Sea surrounds its north with its 59 km coastline, it neighbors Kastamonu to the east, Karab\u00fck to the east and south, and Zonguldak to the west. Area: 2143 km<sup>2<\/sup> and the average elevation is 25 m.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Geological Structure<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Bart\u0131n and its surroundings consist of limestone-carbon terrain belonging to the 1st and 2nd geological periods. In addition, many faults, fractures, folds, depressions, rises, sea advances, sea retreats, life, water, wind, ice, volcanism and similar activities have created and shaped the geography we live on today.<\/p>\n<p>Here, briefly, the formations of the region in its 400 million year old adventure in terms of rock formation and the Lava Rocks seen in G\u00fczelcehisar and Mugada, which are among the rare 93-70 million year old natural formations in the world, will be included.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Hamzafak\u0131l\u0131 Formation (Formation)<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Hamzafak\u0131l\u0131 Formation is the oldest unit belonging to the 1st period. It was formed 410\u2013395 million years ago from 250 meters thick quartzite and microconglomerate (Inkumu Road).<\/p>\n<p><strong>G\u00f6ktepe Formation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The thickness of the G\u00f6ktepe Formation, which was formed 390-370 million years ago, varies between 100-400 meters. It consists of meta sandstone, meta claystone, meta siltstone (Karasu Village).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Y\u0131lanl\u0131 Formation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Y\u0131lanl\u0131 Formation, formed by limestones, overlies the G\u00f6ktepe Formation. Its thickness is variable and is more than 1000 meters (east and west of the Bart\u0131n Strait). Shales formed 315\u2013309 million years ago are 850 meters thick (around Esenp\u0131nar Village).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kozlu-Karadon Formation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Kozlu-Karadon Formation, which formed 306-289 million years ago and constitutes the hard coal deposits of Turkey, is seen in Tarlaa\u011fz\u0131 and G\u00f6m\u00fc Villages.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c7akraz Formation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From Amasra to Cide, 1200 meters thick red sandstones and shales are seen. There is a high probability that dinosaur footprints will be found in the studies to be carried out in the west of \u00c7akraz Village bay. This formation is overlain by limestones formed 163\u2013112 million years ago. There are fossils in these limestones in Amasra Boztepe. The formation spreads east-west, with Bart\u0131n Center being its southern border. This formation is overlain by sandstone, siltstone and volcanic members that were formed 65-35 million years ago in the south of Bart\u0131n.
